Current Ambiguities

CR—AG

Current ambiguities is the interdisciplinary practice of graphic designer and visual artist Andrei Verioti. At his core, Andrei is a perpetual pessoptimist enjoying contradictions in both his work and personal life. He believes the inevitable swing between contrasting ideas is deeply human and uses it as a reliable source of inspiration and reflection.

In broad terms, Current Ambiguities acts as a self promotion campaign addressed to himself. A visual journal used as a tool of processing the world around him and an exercise of experimentation and discovery.

At a micro level, CR—AG aims to connect with the viewer’s imagination and create space for discovery and conversation on issues that often lie below the surface.

Andrei’s creative approach is informed by his practice as a graphic designer — he uses commercial techniques to draw attention and explore current socio-political issues and personal curiosities. His interest in telling complex stories using a reductive visual language reflects his personal pursuit of clarity and simplicity. By leveraging the power of both written and visual ambiguities, Andrei’s work winks at something bigger, deeper, that often ends up inspiring both anxiety and optimism.

Side note: The acronym CR—AG hints at the similarities between climbing and his creative process — it's not all straight up. His passion for climbing is matched only by his love of talking about himself in the third person.
